  3. By using the following Windows 3.1 Driver Library
  4. (the "Software"), you are hereby agreeing to the
  5. included license agreement.  Please review the
  6. file LICENSE.TXT.

  8. "Enable interrupts during playback" Setup Option
  9. ------------------------------------------------
  10. By default, the PC Speaker driver disables all 
  11. interrupts while playing sounds for optimal sound 
  12. quality.  As a result, you will noticed that the 
  13. mouse cursor, keyboard or other processes will not 
  14. respond while sounds are being played through the 
  15. PC Speaker.  You can set PC Speaker to enable 
  16. interrupts for serial port activity and mouse 
  17. movements in the PC Speaker setup dialog, at the 
  18. expense of sound quality.

  20. To set this option:
  21.     - Run Control Panel
  22.     - Open the Drivers icon
  23.     - Select the Sound Driver for PC Speaker from
  24.       the list of Installed Drivers
  25.     - Choose Setup
  26.     - Select or clear the Enable interrupts during
  27.       playback check box.

  29. Note: It may be necessary to select option when 
  30. running some communication applications.

  33. Using the PC Speaker driver with AST systems
  34. --------------------------------------------
  35. If you experience problems using the PC Speaker 
  36. driver on an AST system, you should contact AST 
  37. Technical Support at 1-800-727-1278.

  39. Using Media Player with the PC Speaker driver
  40. ---------------------------------------------
  41. The version of Media Player provided with Windows
  42. 3.1 does not play *.WAV files with the PC Speaker
  43. driver.  To play *.WAV files, you should use Sound
  44. Recorder.  Windows 3.1 will install the Sound
  45. Recorder icon in your Accessories Program Manager
  46. group.
